Haha! We were all here enjoying the sunshine and the warm weather, just dreaming about blooming trees and flower gardens...sigh
When BAM!
We get a winter storm! And it is a cold one! Snow down to 2000 feet~ means it is covering our little mountain top and the mountain tops in Santa Cruz and Marin. The Sierra's are packed!
Of course California water regulators and such will still cry about our drought conditions, and that we don't have enough water ya da ya da. That is another stry completly.
I'm just glad I resisted temptation and did not plant any new flowers in my garden. They would have frozen!
The worst part of the rain is that we were just starting to dry out and I was riding every other day getting Desi in shape for our show in a few weeks.
Now I'll have to wait and start over again.

This time of year may be harder on us horse people than any other. The weather is getting nice enough to ride and yet the ground conditions don't seem to cooperate.
I'm having a hard time believing the weatherman on our forecast. Fifty degrees and snow?
I have to keep reminding myself that it IS still only February, and that we might well wind up with a hard freeze before it's safe to plant. The weather down here has been weird for the past 5 years- never know what to expect!
We're worried that the snow from that storm is going to bring down the barn roof.
This winter's weather seems to be particularly frustrating. The yo yo effect is making me particularly nuts. LOL
California, those of us who live on east coast are trying very hard to feel sorry for you. Warm enough to ride every other day. I am now turning green pea green with jealousy. We had one, count them one warm day, yesterday, when yours truely had to work and now it's back to freezing. The wind is gusting to 60 miles per hour as I type this and they're calling for more snow on Tuesday. But spring will get here. At least it's staying light longer
