Potluck photos

The first picture is John Muir's home in Martinez. Founder of the Sierra Club and a Naturalist, John Muir was given this house as a wedding gift by his Father in Law. It is a magnificent Victorian mansion, complete with a wood paneled study, which John wouldn't use.

Our Amtrack Tracks, these tracks originally were Southern Pacific Train Tracks. The old building is behind me, the new one just to the left. These tracks are some of the busiest in all of California.

This view is from the Muir House Bell tower (yes there is still a bell there, rung on special occasions). It looks North, towards Benicia ( an original State Capitol in 1850). In John Muir's time you could see the ships coming to berth in Martinez's deep water harbor.

Some original carriage steps, hidden now by weeds, going up to the kitchen area of the Muir house.

Trying out the 'pinhole' setting on my camera.
