Today I released my best friend from his pain. My 12 year old Great Dane, Macguire, went peacefully with his head in my arms. A bone tumor in his foot was the reason.
I know he is in a peaceful place now, and as My Other Daughter so sweetly reminded me, " All dogs go to heaven."
Oh no! I am so sorry... but what a GREAT age! I've never met a Dane before who lived much past 8, so you must have really done an amazing job caring for Mac. Just remember- not only do all dogs go to Heaven, but they stay with us too ;)
Awww, that brought tears to my eyes. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is and the days to come, missing your friend that was with you so long. It's so hard, but you did the right thing, and you gave him a good long life with you. All dogs do go to heaven.

So sorry for your loss. I've dealt with too many within the last year. I'm sure he's watching over you.
